1.4 Safety Precautions
Caution - Observe the following precautions to protect yourself when performing maintenance.
  1. Observe all the stated precautions, warnings, and instructions provided on the SPARC M12-2/M12-2S.
  2. Do not insert any foreign object into the openings of the SPARC M12-2/M12-2S. Any object that touches high-voltage circuitry or causes a unit to short circuit may cause a fire or electric shock.
Safety precautions when working with electricity
  1. Confirm that the voltage and frequency of your input power match the electrical rating described on the system nameplate label affixed on the server.
  2. Wear a wrist strap when handling the internal storage (HDD/SSD), CPU memory unit (upper/lower), memory, or other printed circuit boards.
  3. Use grounded power outlets.
  4. Do not attempt to make any mechanical or electrical modifications. Fujitsu Limited shall not be responsible for regulatory compliance of a modified SPARC M12-2/M12-2S.
Safety precautions regarding racks
  1. The rack must be fixed to the floor, ceiling, or nearest frame.
  2. The quakeresistant options kit may be supplied with the rack. The use of the quakeresistant options kit prevents the rack from falling over during the installation or maintenance of the SPARC M12-2/M12-2S.
  3. In the following case, a safety evaluation must be performed by a field engineer before installation or maintenance.
    - When the quakeresistant options kit is not supplied and the rack is not fixed to the floor with bolts: Check safety such as whether the rack may fall.
  4. When mounting multiple SPARC M12-2/M12-2S units in the rack, see "Planning and Preparing for System Installation" in the Installation Guide for your server.
