9.3.1 Active Reduction

9.3.1 Active Reduction
This section describes the method of reducing while the target physical partition (PPAR) is running. Do this work by following the reference procedures.
Note - If the serial number of the chassis targeted for reduction is being used as the system serial number, the initbb command cannot be used to release the chassis. In this case, execute the switchscf command to switch the master XSCF.
Table 9-2  Active Reduction Flow
Procedure Work Description Reference
1 Confirm the flow of active reduction work.   Required
2 Confirm the running status of the system from the master XSCF. "9.2.1 Checking the Operation Status of Physical Partitions and Logical Domains" in the Fujitsu SPARC M12-2/M12-2S Service Manual Required

*1 Set the logical domains again as necessary. For details, see the Fujitsu SPARC M12 and Fujitsu M10/SPARC M10 Domain Configuration Guide.

*2 Before executing the initbb command, you need to confirm the chassis serial number from the system board to be released by executing the showhardconf command.

*3 The removed SPARC M12-2S will be at the factory default status after the execution of the initbb command. If you want to use it as another system, see "1.1 Workflows for the SPARC M12-2S" to perform installation.

*4 To disconnect expansion rack 2, it is necessary to remove the cables interconnecting the racks. In addition, disconnect expansion rack 1 and expansion rack 2 if necessary.
