Linux Kernel

Linux systems have been widely used in various fields such as web servers, enterprise servers, and large-scale scientific and engineering computing servers. Fujitsu Laboratories has been researching and developing Linux servers in order to improve their performance and reliability. Our research covers issues ranging from hardware infrastructure to application software with novel technologies such as a performance tuning method, a PC cluster build-up technology, and high-speed networking technology.

Encryption Technology

Fujitsu Laboratories is conducting research on the security evaluation of and implementation techniques for cryptographic algorithms. The block cipher algorithm, SC2000, jointly developed by Fujitsu Laboratories and Fujitsu Ltd. was selected as one of the recommended block cipher algorithms for Japanese e-Government use by CRYPTREC.

OKAR (Ontology for Knowledge Activity Resources)

OKAR (Ontology for Knowledge Activity Resources)jointly developed by Fujitsu Laboratories and Ricoh, is a format used to describe knowledge activity information in the office. OKAR is based on Semantic Web standards, developed by the World Wide Web Consortium (W3C), that are the fundamental technology for the next generation Web. The goal of OKAR is to improve productivity and knowledge creation in the office.
