Environmental activities

We have adopted high-efficiency facilities and provided environmental solutions contributing to energy savings and CO² reductions. For over 30 years, we have promoted environmental management to reduce the burden on the environment by customers and society not only through our green technology and various environmental measures in our green data centers but also by providing products and services that reduce the burden on the environment by improving customers’ business efficiencies.

Philosophy

We recognize that environmental conservation is a vitally important issue for all human beings.
Considering the environment, we will continuously strive to safeguard a rich, natural environment for future generations, and develop and provide environmentally friendly products and services.

Principles

Regarding our business plans and all products and services, we will pursue environmental protection to establish an environmental management system and improve it continuously along the following principles.

1. We educate our employees about environmental conservation and promote our environmental policy so that all of us work on environmental conservation activities together.
2. To reduce the environmental burden caused by our business activities, we promote the following targets:
   
   • Reduce paper consumption for resource conservation.
   • Reduce electricity consumption to save energy.
   • Steadily implement proper recycling processes.
   • Promote green procurement.
   • Safety management of hazardous substances.
3. For our contribution to the environmental conservation of products and services, we promote the following targets:
   
   • Provide environmentally friendly products and services by utilizing our technological expertise in ICT.
   • Provide environmental solutions supporting measures for environmental conservation.
4. We promote environmental education activities that make environmental contributions to society.
5. We ask for the understanding and cooperation of our customers and all business partners in our environmental conservation activities.
6. We strive to prevent environmental pollution by observing applicable laws, regulations and agreements throughout our environmental activities.

We issue the FUJITSU FIP Sustainability Report annually about the efforts we focus on and the results of our activities for a sustainable society. This report presents our various environmental measures and approach to corporate social responsibility (CSR), our solution services to support environmental conservation, and our various activities to improve the satisfaction of customers and employees.
