Humanoid Robot HOAP-2 Movies

These movies are operational examples using the CPG(1)/NP(2) method that was developed(3) by Fujitsu Laboratories Ltd.

This method makes HOAP-2 movement very speedy, because of the small amount of numerical operations and the smooth changes between operations.

HOAP-2 goes up and down the stairs using visual and sole sensors.

The robot measures the direction and the distance using the visual stereo sensor and approaches the stairs. Then he goes up the stairs checking the landing using his sole sensors. He was not taught the number of steps and height of stairs beforehand.
